EDINBURGH STUDIO OPERA FRINGE SHOW 2012
After another successful run in last years Fringe, Edinburgh Studio Opera returns in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012 with “Love and Death – Opera scenes” and are looking for a production team! The scenes under the ‘love and death’ theme can be discussed and selected by this production team and the ESO committee.
The fifty minute show will run from the 13th-18th August inclusive (11:15am-12:05pm) at Greenside Theatre (1b Royal Terrace EH7 5AB) with casting in May and rehearsals in July.

Founded back in 1968, what was originally Edinburgh University Opera Club formed under the guidance of University professors and lecturers. Its aim was much as it is now, to perform high standard opera. The first performance was a UK premiere of Monteverdi’s opera L’Orfeo. In the last 37 years, the society has undergone much change. For some time now the society has been run by students alone with great success.
